Rainforest BY: Mallena, Jahardi, Katherine The Rainforest is warm and wet. Many plants and animals live in the Rainforest. Trees and plants of the Rainforest provide 20% of the world’s oxygen. The Rainforest is in trouble, but some people are finding ways to solve this problem. The temperature rarely gets higher than 93 degrees or lower than 68 degrees F. The humidity is between 77% and 88%. The Rainforest gets about 150 cm of rain per year.

Orchids By: Jahardi  Habitat: Amazon Brazil  Description: This species comes in many different colors, but they all seem to match the habitat in which they live.  Predator: Many animals depend on this small plant.  Interesting fact: It’s considered one of the most beautiful flowers in the rainforest.

Hummingbird BY: Mallena  Description: They have green backs and white stomachs and are about 3.5 inches long.  Food: They eat small insects and drink nectar from the flowers.  Survival: In order to survive and stay warm, this small animal always needs to be in tall trees.

Harpy Eagle BY : Jahardi  Description: It’s gray and black. It has a medium beak. The Harpy Eagle has very long wings.  Food: This powerful creature eats many animals. One example is the spider monkey. It does not eat plants.  The Harpy Eagle is another animal that is endangered since its habitat is being destroyed by humans.

It is brownish and some have gray hair.  Food: Leaves, plants and ants  Survival skills : It sleeps in the middle of the tree.  Interesting facts: A sloth is actually a type of bear, but it looks like a monkey. It has legs, but it can’t walk.
