The Rainforest Kyle, Dillan, Carter, and Alex

Rainforest Locations  Most rainforests are located in South America  Very little rainforest is in Australia  Some rainforests are on islands

The Climate In The Rainforest  The climate in the rainforest is very misty from the rain.  The average climate is about 70 degrees.  In the amazon rainforest, they get nine feet of rain a year. The Climate in the Rainforest

Rainforest Plants  Rainforest plants are mostly green  Some rainforest flowers grow to be really big  The largest flower blooms in brazil  Some of the flowers are orchids, queens tears, and the poinciana

Rainforest Animals  There are lots of animals in the rainforest including the red eyed tree frog which is shown below along with the toucan.  Red eyed tree frogs are green to blend in from insects it eats and from predators trying to eat it.  The toucan is one of the worlds most popular birds because of its really colorful beak. It also lives in South America.  The cryptic katydid also camouflages into its environment.  The owl moth can camouflage into its environment.  The chimpanzee is an endangered animal.

The Rainforest Food Chain..  The food chain is other animals depending on each other as a source of food.  The carnivores of the rainforest are Monkeys, Exotic Birds, Jaguars, and Cheetahs.  Some of the herbivores of the rainforest are forest elephants and birds and insects.  Some of the primary consumers of the rainforest are Insects, and grasshoppers.  Some of the omnivores in the rainforest are the chimpanzee and the Kinkajou.  Some of the secondary consumers of the rainforest are frogs and toads.  Some of the tertiary consumers of the rainforest are tigers and hawks.  Some of the tertiary consumers of the rainforest are also foxes  Some of the consumers of the rainforest are anteaters and fish.  Some of the producers and decomposers are mushrooms and lianas.

Human Interference in the Rainforest  The impact of humans to the rainforest is extremely bad but sometimes good.  Humans have ben doing some very bad things to the rainforest like clear cutting thousands of trees which we need to breath and get medicine.  But if you want to think positive, there are some scientists and foundations who are trying to preserve the rainforest to keep it alive.

Conclusion and Thoughts about the Rainforest  I really care about the rainforest and I think it is important to preserve it and keep it going.  The rainforest is being cut down severely and its very sad. But its good to know that people are preserving it.  I learned that there are many types of animals in the rainforest and that there are many parts of animals to the food chain such as consumers and producers. I learned about what animals eat what, how big flowers can be, how the climate is in the rainforest, and that people are still looking out for the rainforest to protect it.
