Applying for 6 th Forms, Colleges and Apprenticeships in Kent and Raising the Participation Age (RPA)

Raising the Participation Age RPA is coming into effect from Summer If you are in year 11 this will affect you.

Raising the Participation Age So that you have the opportunity to build the skills and qualifications you will need for your working life, the government has raised the age of participation. This means….

Who does Raising the Participation Age affect? …. if you are currently in Year 11 or below, you will be expected to continue in education, training or work with training until your 18 th birthday. This is what most young people already do.

Where can I learn or train? But …. this does not necessarily mean you have to stay on at school after Year 11. You have a choice.

Where can I learn or train? You could: stay on in full time education, such as school, college or training provider do an Apprenticeship work or volunteer and then study part-time
