Data Analysis

Warm Up: Finish up the notes on Health and Stress. You will have 20 minutes. StandardObjective IA-3.1 Describe the elements of an experiment. IA-3.2 Explain the importance of sampling and random assignment in psychological research. IA-3.3 Describe and compare quantitative and qualitative research strategies. IA-4.2 Explain and describe measures of central tendency and variability. IA-4.3 Describe the concept of correlation and explain how it is used in psychology. IA-4.4 Recognize how inferential statistics are used in psychological research. Students will construct a data table based on the results of their experiment through and excel spreadsheet.

Sections Needed for Paper Title Page Abstract Introduction o How did you come up with this idea? What were your motivation behind it? o Hypothesis will be included here as your “thesis” statement Methods o Participants o Materials o Design o Procedure Results o Add your data which you have collected. Discussion o Analyze your data. What does it mean? o Were there a correlation or association? Explain. Conclusion o Write what the experiment conclusions. What were things that went wrong. How could you make them better for future tests? What could you do differently?

Data Create your data tables in excel. Write your data after you have analyzed them (in paragraph form) Do not make any assumptions or analysis, save that for the next section Remember, all of this is written in past tense since you have already done the experiment. Ex: In our test, we tested 94 high schoolers. The male population scored an accuracy of 63% while females demonstrated an accuracy of 74%. The breakdown of ages were as follows:
