At the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify and explain historical thinking skills by defining each thinking skill.

What are thinking skills? Why do we need thinking skills? Who has thinking skills? Where do we need thinking skills? When do we need thinking skills?

In small groups(nearby students, do not move around too much), identify thinking skills that are necessary while reading and/or listening. Analyze Interpretation Comparison Contextualization Synthesis Causation Patterns of Continuity and Change over Time Periodization Argumentation

 Which thinking skill is most important? Explain.  Which thinking skill do you use effectively?  Which thinking skill is an area of growth for you? Explain.

Go to the College Board website and read about the APUSH exam. Please complete the quiz on Edmodo.com for a grade by Friday. Begin reading chapter 1 of the American Pageant. A quiz on Edmodo.com will appear for Chapter 1.

Read “The Strange Death of Silas Deane” the prologue to After the Fact-article discusses “What is History” and be prepared for a quiz tomorrow on the reading!!!!!
