Anfield – a brief history An inner city Victorian community characterised by neighbourhoods of terraced houses One of the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods in Liverpool in terms of income, employment, health deprivation, and disability When the Housing Market Renewal Initiative (HMRI) was pulled in 2011 Anfield was in the middle of a 15 year programme on renewal Strong residents groups who stayed strong, committed and focused Residents wanted to promote housing choice and variety to support a balanced neighbourhood.

Partnership Working In June 2013 The Partners behind Anfield Regeneration unveiled the new vision for the area, Your Housing Group, Liverpool City Council, Liverpool Football Club and Homes and Communities Agency A major public consultation was held on the vision for the area with more than 80% of those consulted in favour of the plans. That vision was formalised into a Spatial Regeneration Framework and a range on initiatives which have been progressing. To revitalise the Anfield Village and Neighbourhoods as safe secure, sustainable residential neighbourhoods, conducive to community life.
