Haywood County Schools Contract/Tenure Presentation

Past Contract Types Probationary Teacher – 1 year contracts – 4 years as an apprentice – May attain career status after 4 th year Career Teacher – 4 years of experience – Master Teacher – Provides due process protections – No time limit on contract

MET Project Results Value Added Data – Measures adult effectiveness based on student growth. – Compares Haywood County students to other students across the state with similar testing histories going back to 3 rd grade. Teacher Evaluations – Teachers must be proficient on all five standards of the teacher evaluation instrument. Student Surveys – Students in grades 3 – 12 are surveyed about instruction in the classroom.
