Submission doc.: IEEE /0017r0 Abstract This document proposes proxy coexistence service for moving WSO as a new functionality of coexistence manager. Slide 2Sho Furuichi, Sony January 2016

Submission doc.: IEEE /0017r0 Background As one of deployment scenarios, we can assume the scenario that: o One CM manages one specific geographic region; and o WSO (White Space Object) with CE (Coexistence Enabler) has mobility. In such a scenario, issue will be occurred at border. o WSO needs to change its serving CM (CM A) to the other CM (CM B) when the WSO moves across the region. Slide 3Sho Furuichi, Sony January 2016

Submission doc.: IEEE /0017r0 Background (graphic) Slide 4Sho Furuichi, Sony January 2016 CM B for region B (Destination CM) CM A for region A (Source CM) Region A Region B WSO w/ CE

Submission doc.: IEEE /0017r0 Problem Moving WSO (w/ CE) might be unable to be served coexistence service by the CM of the destination region. [Reason] o There are no CM discovery and association as CE operation specified in the existing standard. This issue has been already raised in the other submission of mine. (19- 16/0015r0) o Frequent change of coexistence set information Dynamic spectrum environment around moving WSO (w/ CE) at “high speed”. Especially, management service is difficult to be provided. o Destination CM Capacity for managing WSO (w/ CE) Destination CM cannot always start serving new entrant CE and WSO due to its capacity limitation. Slide 5Sho Furuichi, Sony January 2016 Both should be solved

Submission doc.: IEEE /0017r0 Solution Proxy coexistence service o Source CM provides coexistence service to CE on behalf of destination CM. Slide 6Sho Furuichi, Sony January 2016 CM B for region B (Destination CM) CM A for region A (Source CM) Region A Region B WSO w/ CE Coexistence set information in region B In a normal situation, destination CM has to serve the CE and WSO moving in region B. Move Source CM provides coexistence service to moving WSO after retrieving coexistence set information from destination CM.

Submission doc.: IEEE /0017r0 Things to be defined For information service o Region-specific coexistence set information Current standard includes only the location-specific information. Especially for moving WSO at high speed, overhead will be reduced. For management service o Nothing special Basically, Annex D.4 (informative), where management service for moving WSO is introduced, will be utilized. For both services o CM discovery and association as CE operation See another submission 19-16/0015r0. o Procedure for starting proxy coexistence service as CE and/or CM operation Slide 7Sho Furuichi, Sony January 2016
