2 Transpiration  The process by which leaves give off water.

3 Tuber  A swollen underground stem.

4 Taproots  Deep roots that have tiny hairs to absorb water and nutrients.

5 Fibrous Roots  Long, shallow roots. Grass has fibrous roots.

6 Germinate  Sprout and begin to grow.

7 Carbon Dioxide  Gas breathed out by animals. CARBON DIOXID E

8 Spores  Tiny cells from which some plants germinate.

9 Nutrients  Substances that all living things need to grow.

10 Dormancy  State of lower activity during cold seasons.

11 Photosynthesis  Process by which plants make their own food. Carbon dioxide and water combine to make food! Carbon dioxide is taken in, and Oxygen is given off!!
