The second stage of the second phase of Data and Information Network Project in support of the Integrated Management of Coastal Zone SPINCAM began with workshops in the five countries of the region to inform local actors on the objectives and scope of the pilot project SPINCAM Capacity Buiding Activities

CPPS attended the ICAN7 and Spatial Planning Course Marina OceanTeacher Global Academy in Cape Town The working group was well represented SPINCAM also exposed the operation of Atlas SPINCAM as a sign of efforts to make spatial planning MSP Marino (by its acronym in English) in the Southeast Pacific. CPPS/UNEP/FAO/CI Partnership to raise Regional Awareness on Marine Litter Activities: Workshops to raise awareness with fishermen and school teachers on marine litter. Prepare educational material (videos, posters, leaflets etc) Organize a network of teachers and students – Friends of the Sea – to promote activities like beach clean ups and awareness campaigns. Implementation of CPPS / UNEP Project "Development and implementation of Local Action Plans to promote the management of marine debris in coastal communities of the Southeast Pacific"

Main Objective To raise awareness in fishing communities in the Southeast Pacific countries, addressing environmental problems generated by marine litter, including its proper disposal and/or reuse, looking into practical and environmentally friendly solution Establishment of the Network "Friends of the Sea", in order to combat marine litter in the Southeast Pacific countries (UNEP / CPPS).
