2. The school day officially begins at 7:45. Students arriving after 7:45 will be asked to get a tardy slip. Writing Workshop begins promptly at 8:00.

3. Students should be documenting their homework and the daily agenda for each class. Parents should check and initial their child’s agendas nightly. Important messages from the teachers are communicated daily via the agenda.

4. The Take Home folder is a organizational tool. The students place their homework in one side of the folder and important notes and papers on the other side. Please check this folder nightly with your child.

8. Please make sure sure that your child knows how they are getting home each day. If plans change, a note must be sent or students will be sent home via their regular way.

9. Homework is worth 5% of your child’s average. Homework is graded in class, and based on completion. This policy is in compliance with the Comal ISD grading guidelines.

10. The 5 th Grade Focus is sent weekly via email to those parents who provided their email addresses at Meet the Teacher. Please sign up tonight if you are not already receiving the newsletter and would like to.

11. Students may bring water and a healthy snack to school each day. Students who abuse this privilege will be asked to no longer bring snacks.

12. Students who are absent are responsible for the work they missed. They have the same number of days to make up the work as the number of days they were absent.

13. If a student has either 3 or more tardies, or 3 or more early pick-ups, they are no longer eligible to receive Perfect Attendance for the nine week period.

15. Student Success Initiative in place this year. Students will have 3 chances to pass. The final chance takes place in summer school.
