What is a water cycle? The cycle of processes by which water circulates between the earth's oceans, atmosphere, and land, involving precipitation as rain and snow, drainage in streams and rivers, and return to the atmosphere by evaporation and transpiration.

Now that I know, what it is what are the processes? I Know! I know!!! The processes of the water cycle includes: Evaporation Condensation Precipitation Collection Run Off

Evaporation: Evaporation is when the sun heats up water in rivers or lakes or the ocean and turns it into vapour or steam. The water vapour or steam leaves the river, lake or ocean and goes into the air.

Condensation: Condensation is when water vapour in the air gets cold and changes back into liquid, forming clouds.

Precipitation: Precipitation occurs when so much water has condensed that the air cannot hold it anymore. The clouds get heavy and water falls back to the earth in the form of rain, hail, sleet or snow.

Collection is: When water falls back to earth as precipitation, it may fall back in the oceans, lakes or rivers or it may end up on land. Also, when it ends up on land, it will either soak into the earth or become part of the “ground water” that plants and animals use to drink.

Surface Runoff: Surface runoff is when the water falls on the surface of the earth and it runs back into the collection such as the oceans, rivers and lakes etc.
