2 History of Canada The first people were Native Americans and Inuit. Vikings came and settled in Canada in 1000. Canada was taken in 1534 by France. In the war of 1812 America invaded Canada. In 1866, the Fenian Raid and Battle of Ridgeway occur.

3 History July 1, 1867 Canada Became a country. The first Prime Minister John a Macdonald. In 1873, the North West Mounted Police was established. 1875, The Supreme Court is established. In 1885, the Canadian Pacific Railway was completed. 1898, the Klondike gold rush.

4 History 1899, the Boer War. 1914-1918, World War 1 1939, the great depression started. Septemeber,1939- 1945 World War2 1970, War Measures Act proclaimed on Quebec. 1982, the Canadian constitution was adopted.

5 Location Canada is in North America. There are ten provinces and three tereitories. Located in the northern part of the continent. It extends from the Atlantic ocean in the east and the pacific ocean in the west and northward into the arctic ocean.

6 Current Info/ Facts The population is 34.6 million Life expectancy is 80.9 years. For every 100 men there are 102 women. The largest island in Canada is Baffin Island. Hockey and Lacrosse are the national sports. Capital is Ottawa

7 Facts National icon is the beaver. The Motto is “ From Sea to Sea” The state tree is the sugar maple. The National anthem is “O,Canada” The national bird is the Common Loon

9 The Mountains In the summer you can go hiking or camping. The largest mountains are Mount Logan, Mount Saint Elias, and Mount Lucania. But then in the winter you can go skiing.
