7 Link to Skill Related Fitness and Health Related Exercise SRF Balance- Prevents player from falling over. Coordination- Needed to hit the ball during a rally and during the serve. Power- Movements need a sufficient amount of strength and speed to increase the strength of the shot and stand a chance in a competitive environment, in this case, a match. HRE Muscular Endurance- Allows repeated movements of muscles over a time in swinging of racket, and running to hit the ball. Cardiovascular Fitness- so that the body can work continuously, supplied sufficiently with oxygen Flexibility- So that arms can be successfully rotated Body Composition- Can affect shape of body, mesomorphs have an advantage in producing necessary power to strike the ball.

8 Practice and Drills to Improve (The Imperfect Model) Practice I – Serve Target Practice This is designed to improve the accuracy of the players serve and increase the power of the serve. Improvements can be measured by using SMART goal setting. Stage 1 – Place cones in various parts of the service box opposite to you. Stage 2 – Practice serving to different parts of the box every time. Stage 3- Once accuracy is good increase the power and serve at least 50 balls per side Practice II – Cross Court Forehand Drill This is designed to improve the accuracy and power of the players forehand, it will also in the long run increase the players footwork and mobility. Improvements can be measured by using SMART goal setting. Stage 1 – Have a partner stand diagonally to you. Stage 2 – Start off rallying with them one person will always hit down the line one person will always hit crosscourt. Stage 3- Once accuracy is good increase the power and try to make rallies as long as possible
