It becomes nicer and softer from being used, and it gets a fine patina. The daily care doesn’t take more than dusting the furniture with a dry, soft cloth, or you can vacuum it, using a nozzle with a soft brush. All leather furniture needs to be wiped off with soapy water once or twice a year. Soap flakes contain a fatty substance that will nourish the leather and prevent the finer types of leather from drying up, and keep pigmented upholstery leather from crackling.

IDdesign Academy MORE EDUCATION – MORE KNOWLEDGE – MORE SALES Leather 17 Maintenance and cleaning In the event that you should accidentally drop a piece of cake or spill a cup of coffee in the leather chair its important to know how to remove the stain without blotching the leather. IDdesign strongly advise you against using other leather cream, oils, leather wax, synthetic detergents or other cleaning products, then the ones that we are selling, on your leather furniture, because: 1. nobody knows exactly what the cleaning agents contain. 2. nobody knows exactly how they might affect the leather. 3. the product may contain chemicals that dissolve dye and lacquer. 4. the product may contain chemicals that leave blotches. The maintenance and cleaning products sold by IDdesign are tested with our product. (if the customer follows the guide include in the packed)

18. IDdesign Academy MORE EDUCATION – MORE KNOWLEDGE – MORE SALES Leather 18 Maintenance and cleaning The safest way is the following method: First, soak up the spillage with a soft, clean cloth. Then dab the stain with a soft cloth wrung out in clean water-or a very thin solution of soapy water. If the water is hard, you should use distilled water. The upholstery mustn’t get soaking wet when you clean your furniture. It should jest be wiped with a wrung-out cloth. If the furniture is upholstered in pure aniline or semi-aniline leather, you must wipe the entire surface of the upholstery-otherwise the water will leave blotches on the leather.
