4. Issues Sustainability leads to two broad families of (spatial) policies: 1) Policies that aim at conserving arts, heritage and identity 2) Policies that aim at ‘valorising’ culture and at enhancing identity

Macro Policy Issues Conserving European Cultural Heritage should, because of its very nature (space product and European concern), be an important element of territorial policies; ‘Valorising’ European Heritage offers regional economies new impulses for the economy and the society (culture as a priority in assigning structural funds).
