13.  A verb is a word that expresses action or being. The main word in the predicate of a sentence is a verb.  EX: Garth talks constantly about the Middle Ages.  An action verb tells what the subject does, did, or will do.  EX: Many tourists visit castles in Europe.  A linking berg links the subject of a sentence with a word in the predicate that describes the subject.  EX: Garth’s stories about castles are wonderful.
