her brain. In the background her friend Pamsy reached over, picked up the violin and began to play the most beautiful melody that Elisa had ever heard. Pamsy was a lady who not only wrote wonderful interesting stories but she too could play the violin like Elisa. The two were talented ladies and only yesterday they had decided to put their pretty heads together and write a novel; a master piece that would hit the bestseller list straight away. Within minutes of hearing the melodic strings of the mystical violin their dream character entered the captivating page as the brightest star in the constellation and his heart unswervingly was lost to the beautiful maiden slumbering amid the profuse flowers, each adding to the splendor of that place.

The prince’s toxic poignant eyes or ears were powerless to catch a tone or sight of a lighthearted fairy who with her winged friends enjoyed the recounting fable, as the spirits of the next page filled with more characters and appeared with a tale that would stir the hearts of all. Pamsy's overpowering violin melodies lured him closer and as he lingered there in the murky moon, Elisa’s mind went wild with words and visualization of the scene where the princely dream man was there with an unwavering emotion that carried him to the edge as he took in a savoring image in his mind of a maiden fairy, although he didn’t know she was a fairy. His pulse rose to the highest level and he felt his soul moving and swaying to the melody until he couldn’t stand another moment without her so he raced over to sweep her up into his arms, to carry her to the water’s edge where he’d savor her innocent beauty, and place her in his small boat and within moments they’d sail away into the deepest part of the water, but when he got closer to the melody, he saw nothing - he heard nothing. Where was she he wondered?

He looked under the shade tree, over near the large rocks and even near the chalet, but still his violin maiden was nowhere to be seen. She was right there, in plain view, but much too small for him to be alerted to her form. He wiped his long evenly manicured fingers across his lips and wondered why the melody had stopped and where had his maiden gone? He raked his finger through his dark thick hair and then dropped them against his hip and meandered away sorrowfully. He stood tall, slender and handsome, but yet nothing again could bring his face to the glowing beam he had felt when he heard the melody of the violin playing and the gentle humming of his maiden. Was it a tragedy, unplanned, drawing in the prince with the magical waves of sonic sounds of the violin, mimicking the human voice both in sadness and happiness?

Chapter Two As the man of their dreams sauntered away Elisa begged Pamsy to play again, for the book must be written and yet they could not find the words. The music still played on in their minds, but for some reason their fingers remained idle at the computer keyboard; both looking to see in their minds eye the back of the tall dark-haired stranger walking away. Elisa and Pamsy yearned for him to be happy and yet they knew he would never be without his beloved Fairy. They saw through the cloud of past times when the Fairies gaily jumped from flower to flower. They watched, and as time passed the Fairies gradually faded away and for the two women, the performance ended with them looking at what they imagined was Fairy dust falling from the flowers; in reality it was only the escaping pollen blowing in the breeze. Elisa picked up the violin again and plucked at the strings while playing a little unwritten melody. She looked at Pamsy who seemed to be in her own world typing away at her keyboard.

She continued playing her haunting tune and kept the rhythm of Pamsy’s typing. It seemed she was typing to Elisa’s music dreaming of her tall, dark, handsome man looking for the love of his life and yet for some reason he could not quite reach out to touch her.

Every time he got close, the music ended and the story got a bit further on but never quite as far as either of the women writers wanted. Pamsy stopped typing and watched as Elisa put the violin back into its light brown leather case. She loosened the strings of the bow slightly and returned that to the case, Pamsy turned to her and watching her put the violin away, smiled and said gently.
