2 Aim of the Programme The aim of this programme is to develop your skills in employability and to gain a qualification to reflect your achievement. The qualification you will achieve is City and Guilds Certificate in Employability Skills. The course provides an in-depth knowledge of Tesco, including their values and what it is like working for them.

5 Overview of the Programme Week 3: Personal shoppers – 1 day at Tesco CFC for interview and work sample CDA’s and Loaders – 2 days at Tesco CFC for: interview driving assessment and work sample

6 Session Objectives By the end of this session you will: 1.identify what you need to do to follow the programme 2.identify the facilities and support at the centre 3.set the ground rules for the programme 4.identify the impact being in a job will have 5.consider ways to overcome barriers to working 6.find out about Tesco and the roles available

8 Domestics In the event of a fire go to the nearest fire exit then proceed to the fire assembly point and await further instructions by Fire Wardens. If you have an accident whilst in the centre notify a member of staff. Follow any safety instructions located around the building and report any issues to staff.

10 Health and Safety Your legal responsibilities: Follow all safety rules and report any accidents. Work safely and take care of the safety of others. Don’t use machinery or equipment you are not permitted to operate. Don’t enter areas you are not allowed to access.

11 Health and Safety Our legal responsibilities: Enabling you to work and learn in a safe, healthy, supportive environment. Ensuring that you receive a health and safety induction including emergency procedures and first aid arrangements. Making you aware of the hazards and risks around you and helping you to develop safe working skills you can use throughout your working life. Telling you how to report accidents and who to speak to if you are worried about safety.

12 Health and Safety Be aware of common hazards around the premises: Trailing cables Slippery floors Using electrical equipment Hazardous substances Lifting heavy objects Using office equipment and moving parts in machinery

13 Health and Safety Using a workstation: Follow the guidance on Display Screen Equipment (DSE) posters in order to set up and use your workstation safely.
