4 TODAY’s Goals Vote on the group rules – sign the rule sheet. Complete the “bookmark” activity.

5 What is a bookmark? A piece of cardboard or paper to keep track of pages read. How many of you have used a bookmark before?

6 Super-Charged Bookmark 1) The bookmarks we will create are for the purpose of fostering better discussions and help create lasting connections to a text. 2) OPTIONS FOR TODAY – A) create a book- specific mark; B) a general bookmark

7 Bookmark Step by Step 1)Take a piece of construction paper. 9 Optional - Personalize 1)If you want to make your bookmark more personal, flip it over and “visualize” a scene from the novel or story by drawing a picture.
