3 The Rainforests clean our planet, hold the majority of plants and animals, and is a very fragile environment. Half of the Rainforest is in Brazil, Native people live there, and their homes Are in danger.

4 Deforestation causes increased carbon dioxide levels that causes Global warming. 6 percent of the earth is rainforest and it contains more than 50 percent of all plants and animals on earth.

5 Countries in Latin America need to find a balance between Economic interests and the environment. Debt-for-Nature Swap is one way to preserve the rainforest and erase debt.

6 Governments in Latin America are mainly Democratic. Some are Oligarchies, some are Juntas (ruled by generals), some are Caudillos (military dictatorship). but of these democratic governments are corrupt and not real democracies.

7 To establish true democracy the citizens must be literate, educated on issues, prosperous, and establish and agree on a Constitution. A wealthy elite has ruled these countries and to give the government to the people is tough.
