3 Location - Where is it? Absolute location – position on the globe. Usually found by latitude and longitude. Absolute location – position on the globe. Usually found by latitude and longitude. 1. Latitude – imaginary lines that run parallel to the equator and measure north and south. 2. Longitude – imaginary lines that run parallel to the prime meridian and measure east and west. Relative Location – position of a place in relation to another place. Example – New Orleans is South of Memphis. Relative Location – position of a place in relation to another place.
