1 ESPN Sports Radio 1080 The FAN Hunt for the Host 2

2 On-Air/Digital Flight: December 1 st 2014 – March 13 th 2015(15 weeks) Hunt for the Host is a reality radio competition for 1080 The FAN listeners, giving them a chance to win a year-long contract for their own talk show on the station. It was designed to push the station’s capabilities to the max, utilizing various touch points with fans while allowing advertisers to capitalize on a very unique marketing opportunity. The response was overwhelming. Due to popular demand, The FAN is bringing the competition back for a second year! Four open auditions will be held at listener-selected Buffalo Wild Wings locations throughout the Portland market – strategically chosen for North, South, East and West regions. After the 4 qualifying auditions, 16 finalists will be selected to compete in a weekly, LIVE on-air competition. Each finalist will be drafted by one of two teams, and coached by PM-drive hosts Isaac Ropp and Jason “Big Suke” Scukanec. Each week, the contestants will be put through broadcast-related challenges live, on-air. The five contestants who scored the lowest each week will be put up for elimination. The FAN audience will text in to try and save their favorite, with one being saved each week. The final two contestants will appear for a week on various FAN shows. One will be crowned the winner!

4 Auditions: Number of contestants by Week: Week 1: 35 Week 2: 36 Week 3: 33 Week 4: 58 Total: 162 contestants Each Wednesday for four weeks, 1080 The FAN held auditions at 4 different Buffalo Wild Wings locations. Turn out was higher than expected, pushing our allotted number of auditions past the max! Most contestants came with friends and family, making each audition a huge success in terms of overall attendance. Buffalo Wild Wings reported that all four audition rounds generated more than $3,500 per-location in additional sales, year-over- year. Wednesday nights went from the lowest revenue night to the largest, even surpassing Fridays and Saturdays. Lines started forming outside each location hours prior to the opening of registration.

6 On-Site Broadcasts: With 16 contestants surviving the four audition rounds, Hunt for the Host began broadcasting the competition live from a Buffalo Wild Wings location near Portland’s Moda Center. Sponsors had a unique opportunity to showcase their products with the crowds at Buffalo Wild Wings. Pyramid Brewing used the promotion to launch their new seasonal beer! As the audience became more familiar with each contestant, the competition heated up, and crowds grew. Listener engagement also grew each week, as the text vote became a popular way to get behind the finalists: Total Text Votes by week: Week 1 – 3,107 Week 2 – 6,515 Week 3 – 21,313 Total: 30,935 votes

8 Digital Presence: As much as this was an on-site/on-air event, the digital presence played a huge part in the interaction with 1080 The FAN’s audience. Sponsors were included in all aspects, in prominent locations, with hyper-links to their websites. Metro PCS sponsored the text voting and received over 30,000 bounce-back messages throughout the competition.
