2. Purpose: ▪To communicate changes to the school-wide behavior plan. ▪To maintain consistency among staff members in regards to the school- wide plan. ▪To get a team to express interest in joining the PBIS committee.

4. Change #1: Clip Charts Old Way Rainbow colored clip chart displayed in the classroom. New Way Student’s names will be displayed on a table on a piece of paper. The table will indicate the colored levels: Green, Yellow, Orange, Red In the event that a student’s color must be changed, the teacher will simply make that note on the clipboard. The clipboard chart should be follow the class (for example, lunch, special areas). If a special area teacher or cafeteria worker must change a color, they will simply indicate it on the clipboard chart. With improved behavior, students can move their color backwards to the teacher’s discretion. If a teacher did not move the color, they should not move it back

6. What will stay the same Students behavior color level would be indicated on the student planner calendar. This calendar indicator will be a form of communicating with parents regarding their child’s daily behavior. ▪It is important to share with parents the expectation of their signature daily as it promotes a link to a consistent home- school connection. ▪Before initialing the planner at the end of the day a one-to- one dialogue between student and teacher should occur so both parties are aware of the events that contributed to a non“green” day.

8. Change #2: Use of a Buddy Room ▪Teachers should pair up with a colleague of one grade above or one grade below. ▪In the event that a student needs some reflection time, they will be asked to go to the buddy room (can and should be escorted by a trustworthy peer and call the room to let the teacher know they are coming). ▪In the buddy room, the student can complete an assignment, write a reflection, or de-escalate for no more than 15 minutes. ▪Special Areas teachers can utilize the class buddy room as well. ▪The Buddy room teacher is indicated on the behavior clipboard sheet. ▪Either the classroom teacher can send for them or the buddy teacher can send them back if it appears that they are ready to return to the learning environment.

11. The procedure for direct office referrals will be completed as follows: 1.Student sent to the office. If a referral does not arrive within 10 minutes of the students arrive in the office, he or she will be sent back to class. 2.When the student returns they will come with a completed office referral so that you are aware of the outcome. 3.Parent contact MUST be made if a child is sent to the office. In the event of a suspension, the contact will be made by administration and/or administrative designees

12. Change #3: School- Wide Incentives Old Way Students were given Panther Tickets. New Way Students will receive Bucket Fillers (or Bucket Filler “points” given in Class Dojo as a way to promote positive behavior towards other. Teachers and students work together to create a ticket/ reward menu. These Bucket Fillers will be tangible and can/ should be “cashed in” to weekly in class incentives.
