Geography of Vancouver Vancouver is located on southwest corner of British Columbia Vancouver is made up of many forests, mountains, valleys, and rivers It also includes the Juan de Fuca fault that stretches North to South through British Columbia Vancouver is bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Fraser River to the south, the Coast Mountains to the north and the Fraser Valley to the east

Vancouver’s Economy Vancouver's economy is fast-growing, especially in the areas of high- tech, tourism, financial services, education and natural resources Forestry is the largest sector and accounts for up to 100,000 related jobs The port of Vancouver is a huge part of Vancouver’s economy. The port provides about $40 million of exports each year

Fun Facts Vancouver is named after Captain Vancouver. In 2007, Vancouver was ranked as the 10th cleanest city in the world A resident of Vancouver is called a Vancouverite. Vancouver is probably the only place in the world where it is possible to ski, play golf and go sailing, all in the same day. Vancouver is the birthplace of the one of the world largest environmental organizations, called Greenpeace.
