 Several Native Americans found a home in Oklahoma. The War on the Frontier was a war between two different cultures. It was a war between the Texans and the Natives. The Texans were pushing into the West, which was where the Natives lived. They were not happy. Their lives were being destroyed, and they were being forced further away from their food source.

 The Native Americans wouldn’t let it happen. They fought back against the Texans. After a long war, the Native Americans came up with a loss.

 They were all forced into Indian Territory, AKA- Oklahoma. It was meant to stay that way for good- an Indian Territory, but finally, in 1907, Oklahoma was admitted into the Union as the 46 th state.

 Oklahoma was named by a American Missionary named Allen Wright.

 The different Native American arts were special and important to the Natives, so important that most are taught in schools today.  These arts include bead working, feather work, and jewelry making.

 Most Native Americans survived by planting crops such as corn, and by hunting and fishing.  The buffalo was the main prey of choice for hunting, and it was a right of passage to hunt the buffalo.  The Cherokees where different, they traded for crops instead of planting their own and like the rest hunted buffalo.

 All the Native Americans in Oklahoma relied on the buffalo to survive in the wilderness and on the reservations spiritually and physically.
