Go to our Northampton Website and click the link on the left side To access parent connection 2.) Read instructions prior to creating your account. 3.) You will need your student’s Klein ID#, Date of Birth & Social Security Number to create the account.

Behavior Chart Green Card= Great day! Yellow Card=Several reminders Red Card=Time out Purple Card=Note, phone call, or e-mail to parents about the days behaviors Blue Card=Principal’s office or Counselor’s office Principal’s Proud Club In order to be eligible for this award in a weeks time (Wednesday- Tuesday), a student may not get more than 2 yellow cards. Red, purple, and blue cards automatically eliminate a student. After Winter Break, it will change to 1 yellow card in a week. Too many tardies, cafeteria write ups, or bus write ups can effect this as well.

Daily Folders & Friday Folders 1.Look through the daily (blue &white) folder each day. 2.Go over any papers with your child that you see fit or at least the “N” or “U” graded ones. This means they are needing extra help in order to master the material that has been taught. 3.Go over their weekly behavior grade which will be in their Colt Folder on Friday’s. You hopefully will see “E” and “S” grades here. 4. For those parents who do not have an email address, all PFO papers will go home in the daily (blue/white folder). 5. Parents should return things or send notes back in either folder as necessary.

Ways To Have A Successful Year Have your child bring their backpack everyday to school. Have your child return their library book, Homework Notebook, and Home Readers by Friday. Look through the Colt/Daily folder, sign, and have your child return it everyday. Please discuss their behavior grade if needed. Read to your child as much as possible. The more you read the more successful they will be in school. Send a note to school in the morning or call the front office if there is going to be a change in their departure transportation. Do not send me an email the day of the change. Inform your child’s teacher of any major changes that may affect your child’s behavior at school. Send in snacks daily for your child (water only for snack time!). Check our class web page frequently.

Some Curriculum Expectations Language Recognize letters and letter sounds Read some sight words and phonetically sound out three letter words Write simple sentences using sight words and inventive spelling Read at a level “B” by January and at least at a level “C” by the end of the school year. Math Recognize and name numerals to 30, count sets to 20, rote count to 100 by 1’s, 10’s, 5’s. Students will be introduced to counting by 2’s. Be introduced to shapes/solids, patterns, graphing, fractions, addition, subtraction, position and location, Please look at our class webpage under academics for specific information on each of the nine weeks.

If your child is going to be absent, please call the attendance office at 832-484-5505 that morning. Send in a doctor’s note and/or parent letter when they return. A child may earn a Perfect Attendance sticker on their report card if they have been at school everyday during a nine weeks period. If a student has three or more tardies and/or early dismissals in a nine week period, their conduct grade will be lowered with the exception of having a doctor’s note. Therefore, they will be not be in the running for the Golden Horseshoe Award or the Principal’s Proud Club for that nine week period. Also, a student will be asked to serve detention on the eighth tardy and every tardy thereafter. Please help your child to arrive on time.
