3 July Submit your Unique Characteristics Paragraphs. 2 paragraphs 125 words each Submit to Office of Student Affairs by July 1 or very, very soon.

4 July Work on your personal statement. “Lovin’ the vanilla,” but other flavors are okay too.

5 July and August Gather information about residency programs. Access the AMA Freida Program at www.ama-assn.org/vapp/freida/srch Meet with Career Counselors and Faculty Advisors Ask faculty for Letters of Recommendation

6 July and August Check the Student Directory to see what letters have been submitted. Work on your ERAS application. Check for individual program application deadlines. Submit specialty bullet points for MSPE by August 1 Get your picture taken. E-mail a copy to osa@mail.med.upenn.edu

7 August Complete MyERAS application. Follow up on letters that have not been submitted. Assign Letters of Recommendation Make sure you have met with JoMo, Associate Dean for Student Affairs.

11 September Follow up on any letters not yet in. Ask JoMo for help if necessary. Submit application beginning September 1st.

12 September and October Register for the NRMP on their website at www.nrmp.org beginning on August 15, 2011. www.nrmp.org Review your transcript Review your MSPE. Make sure that all of the courses are included and grades are correct; note any that are missing. You may not change the content of the letter.

13 October and November Interviews Begin MSPE’S are sent electronically on November 1, 2011

14 Residency Interviews November 30, 2011 is the deadline to register for the NRMP. Beginning December 1, 2011 an additional late registration fee of $50 will be charged. December, January and February

15 January 15, 2012 is the day that the Rank Order List opens and you can enter your Rank Order List on the Web-based ROLIC system. February 22, 2012 is the deadline to enter your Rank Order Lists.

17 Ophthalmology Urology Early Matches

18 Application submission target dates are at the end of August and beginning of September. Interviews in late October, November and early to mid December. Request an early transcript from the Office of the Registrar.
