2 Research Goals Understand opportunities in customer journey from digital to analog (store) What content to provide from digital/pre-shopping experience to in-stores? What pain-points/challenges do users encounter in a store making them leave without purchase?

3 User Research: Method Tested AE APP Eight participants Gave each participates a specific number of tasks to complete Asked participants to think aloud Recorded time, confusion, success rate Evaluated the ease of use and relevance features, – including line reservation, – dressing room help request, – in store item locater, – user size preferences and – purchase/photo sharing.

4 User Research: Participants Men and women between the ages of 16 and 30 years old Eight participants Four women and four men (50/50) Median income of the participates was $35,000 Median age of 22 years old.

5 User Research: Findings Questions presented to Participants are as follows: 1.What are your major pain points in visiting a store? And/or what prevents you from frequenting the store? – Long lines – Not being able to find items or sizes in stores. 2.How often do you use in-store apps, if at all? – Only one participant said that they actively used an in-store app.

6 User Research: Findings Questions presented to Participants: 3.What features would make you want to use an in store app? – Ability to stand in line without standing in line, – Real-time inventory, song banner to show which song was playing in the store (“so I don’t have to open Sound Hound”), – Social Media perks (rewards for sharing items purchased), – Synchronization of regular app shopping bag with in-store app to locate items that were saved. 4.What are some apps that you frequently use? – Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Pandora, MyFitnessPal, Sound Hound, TouchTunes, Amazon, Targe, iTunes 5.Do you use Social Media? 7/8 users said that they used SM – Platforms Facebook (7), Instagram (4), Twitter (4)

7 Tasks Based on the research and after some discussion, included the following items in app development: Help at the touch of a button – Users expressed interest in an option to hold their place in line while continuing to shop as well as requesting assistance in the dressing room using the app to request size and color of an item using the barcode scanner to send the request to an associate. Shopping bag sync with the main app – Items that were saved in your shopping bag will update to show if they are available in the store and where they are located in the store. Detailed profile – Users will be able to save personal size information and will have the ability to share their purchases or wish items with friends.
