Naviance is a college and career readiness platform that helps students connect academic achievement to post-secondary goals and success.

Will I be successful? Many students are college eligible, but few are truly college ready, as evidenced by the high levels of remediation required.
Two in 10 freshmen at four-year colleges require some form of remediation
Five in 10 at two-year community colleges require some form of remediation
We need to bridge the gap between college eligibility and college readiness.

3. Student Registration To login for the first time:
Go to the Family Connection website for the school.
Click the “I need to register” link. (top right)
Enter your address.
If you do not have an address, click “I do not have an ” and set an alternative username.
Set a password.
Write down your username and password!

4. Welcome Page This is your welcome page after you have logged in.
Scroll down to the bottom of message.
Select “View Assigned Tasks”
Click “Complete Career Key” 4

5. Career KeyTM (MS Only)
The Career Key™ assessment is targeted toward middle school students. This assessment provides students with their Holland interest codes.
During the assessment, students can stop completing the assessment and save their progress. The results of the Career Key include a score for each of the six Holland interest codes. For each Holland code, the student can view careers that related to that interest. From the list, the student can add careers to the careers list.

11. Holland Code Definitions
Realistic: Realistic occupations frequently involve work activities that include practical, hands-on problems and solutions. They often deal with plants, animals, and real-world materials like wood, tools, and machinery. Many of the occupations require working outside, and do not involve a lot of paperwork or working closely with others.
Investigative: Investigative occupations frequently involve working with ideas, and require an extensive amount of thinking. These occupations can involve searching for facts and figuring out problems mentally.
Artistic: Artistic occupations frequently involve working with forms, designs and patterns. They often require self-expression and the work can be done without following a clear set of rules.
Social: Social occupations frequently involve working with, communicating with, and teaching people. These occupations often involve helping or providing service to others.
Enterprising: Enterprising occupations frequently involve starting up and carrying out projects. These occupations can involve leading people and making many decisions. Sometimes they require risk taking and often deal with business.
Conventional: Conventional occupations frequently involve following set procedures and routines. These occupations can include working with data and details more than with ideas. Usually there is a clear line of authority to follow.
