2. STRIKE  It’s time to prepare for High School and for you to demonstrate to us what you have learned at Depoali. The STRIKE knowledge you have should become intrinsic and be applied to all aspects of your life. Now as an 8 th grader you will reflect and evaluate yourself weekly”

3. Weekly SELF RATING POINT SHEET Students will rate themselves weekly on a 0, 1, 2 point scale in the areas of Strength/Knowledge, Tolerance/Empathy and Responsibility/Integrity Points will be recorded by your advisory teacher weekly and used to attend rewards.

4. ACTIVE LEARNER Strength/Knowledge I demonstrated STRENGTH and KNOWLEDGE this week by completing and turning in my work. 2pts 1pt 0 pts Extension Activity Using accountable talk discuss ways you have earned a grade you were proud of in the past, what did it take? What qualities make a successful student?

5. Make a Difference TOLERANCE/EMPATHY  I demonstrated tolerance and empathy this week by respecting other people’s differences and seeking to understand their feelings” 2 pts 1 pt 0 pts Extension Activity: Write about a time you made a difference in someone else’s life because of the tolerance or empathy you showed them. List one person at school who has done this for you

6. STRIKE RESPONSIBILITY/INTERGRITY  “I demonstrated responsibility and Integrity this week by completing all of the tasks required from me at both home and school, and I did so with integrity.” 2pts 1pt 0pts Extension Activity When is a time in your life you have been the most responsible? What responsibilities do you think you have that other students may not have? Tell a story of a time you could have got away with something but choose to use integrity instead, did anyone find out?

7. EVIDENCE You will need proof that you really earned all 6 points, Possible evidence… Cite things such as passing grades, signatures, work ethic grades, attendance, minor/major referrals Teachers will ask for you to support your claim, be prepared to defend your response!

8. CELEBRATIONS To attend the end of the year 8 th grade pool party you will need 30 total points from April 15 th -May 27 th, as well as meeting Depoali attendance requirements. Any student who earns a major referral will need to write an action plan and show improvement in the area of concern. We know you can do it and you are ready to soar!
