1 Behavior Attendance Grades What’s in your BAG? By Ms. Adrian Williams 2013-14

2 Be Resilient (1)  Students who are resilient are able to rebound from disappointment…quickly  Thinking well of yourself is important to your overall happiness. It is important to fell good about who you are from the inside out  You can demonstrate positive thinking or resiliency by looking for the bright side in every situation

3 Always look for opportunities to stand out  Successful students are always on the look out for something good…sometimes they make something good happen  Always show up ready to perform

4 Seek assistance when necessary  Even the smartest person needs help from somebody else once in awhile.  QRS is full of adults and some very special students who will support you when you need an extra hand…just ask! We don’t know what you need unless you can communicate it.

5 Maintain self control  No one is more in charge of you than you!  Never yell or use profanity instead, use a calm voice and tone  Wait with patience for a response

6 Behave or Act responsibly  Behave like your mother or father is watching you all the time.  Talk to people with respect, use words like “excuse me” or “I am sorry I did not mean for that to happen”.  Play fair, take turns and share!

7 Share and exchange ideas  Use your lunch time to socialize and have various discussions about many different things…find a balance  People who are successful know that they can learn from those around them  Enter class armed with new ideas or questions that will make class fun and interesting

8 Request Feedback (7)  This is important because it gives you a chance to get first hand information about your progress in that class The teacher will tell you exactly what you need to do to be successful. You will need to listen and follow through (do what they say).

9 Respect the rights of all (8)  Successful people find ways to be helpful  Respect the teacher’s time  Cooperate with classmates  Find ways to demonstrate leadership

10  Behavior must be SUPERIOR! No referrals, No walking out of class No disrespect towards adults or peers  Attendance must be Great! Get to school every day If you are sick… communicate  Maintain passing Grades! Try to earn an A in your classes and if you fail you may earn a C!

11 Accountable by any means necessary  To be accountable means to be honest about your own behavior no matter the consequences  Being accountable means understanding that your behavior impacts those around you

12 “It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect It's successful outcome” Exit tickets… please leave them on your chair.
