Child labour Companies such as Primark have been caught out in recent times for using children as young as 11 making its clothing The company had before claimed that it did not use children to make its clothes but the BBC uncovered factories and children in India doing just that Primark claimed it never knew and that orders have been cancelled with the factories concerned Many belief that this is Primark turning its back on the ethical issue surely it should be trying to improve working conditions and not just trying to get its name out of the media spotlight.

Research… Look at the following website http://www.peopletree.co.uk People tree are a Fair trade clothing company who are working to try and stop Child labour and ensure that producers and workers get a fair deal. Tasks 1.What is the mission statement of the People Tree? 2.How does the People tree work? 3.How is there clothing considered Fair Trade? 4.If you could buy one item of clothing from their website which would it be? 7. Poster\Presentation design We want you to design a poster to highlight to people; How some of our clothes are being produced Providing them with the alternatives- thinking about Fair trade Posters\ presentations done on the laptops can be uploaded to the VLE on the year 7 home page

8. Peer assessment We are now going to look at some of the posters or presentations and people can explain how they have shown the two sides to the creating clothes As we go through you need to complete the peer observation sheet. Fill in the persons name and level supporting with reasons
