Chamber Monitor Panel Emiliano Furfaro 16 october 2012

1.The current version is designed to be used by many users at the same time: for this reason I developed a Client-Server based communication in order to avoid that more than one user could make requests to the hardware. 2.Fast reaching and opening panels related to the single chamber or the single Service Board. 3.The panel provides a set of tools to check in real time the status of the muon station, chamber per chamber: the noise count, the threshold autoset, the configuration check and the FEB status. 4.Alarms and warnings give us information about the state of the two Systems and alert us if the server or the managers responible for the communications with the hardware are stuck. Main Features

1. The client-server logic Any panel is a client of the server that is responsible to avoid that more than one client could make requests to the hardware at the same time: in this way any panel could remain open and display in real time the tools’ results. The request will be send in parallel to each system that can communicate with the hardware by means the “Manager 11”. Any open panel could work like a status monitor. 9 The alarm icon 3. The status tools

We can choose a tool by clicking on the radio box button: the corrispondig start/stop button will be coloured and the others are disabled. The rate counters give us informations about the noise of the chamber 3. The status tools

The fix tool allows the user to set the threshold for one or more noisy chambers automatically 3. The status tools

This tool chek if the selected chamber are properly configured 3. The status tools

This tool chek if the selected chamber are the FEBs properly communicating 3. The status tools

This feature allows us to run automatically or manually the selected tool 3. The status tools

4. Alarms and Warning When the state of both sides of the system is not “RUNNING” the Server stops any running tool and the clients receive the command to cover the tools button. The server doesn’t accept any command till the systems are “RUNNING” again and the “unlock” button will be enabled. If the panel is in the automatic mode, the selected tool starts again by itself.

If the Server is stuck a window appears over any Client and will desappear only once the manager 15 on MUSIDES system will be restarted. 4. Alarms and Warning

If some manager 11 is not running anymore a windows alarm will appear overe any client with informations about the system where the manager is not runnig: the window disappear when all managers are running again. At the same time the Server stops any tool active and doesn’t accept commands till the alarm is over. 4. Alarms and Warning
