3 Efficient editing with NC-Assistant & Cycles/Macros
CIMCO Edit 5 Efficient editing with NC-Assistant & Cycles/Macros

4 CIMCO Edit Efficient editing with NC-Assistant & Cycles/Macros
Move the cursor to a G/M code, and the NC-Assistant will identify the code, and allow you to modify it using an interactive interface.

5 CIMCO Edit Efficient editing with NC-Assistant & Cycles/Macros
Step 1. Point at any G or M code. Step 2. Enter new values into fields in dialog. Step 3. Approve changes and your NC program is automatically updated with the new values.

6 CIMCO Edit Efficient editing with NC-Assistant & Cycles/Macros
The Cycles/Macros function allows the user to quickly add/edit complex cycles. In this example we will insert code for ”Program start”. Step 1. Position the cursor on the first line of the program Step 2. Select ”Program start” from the Cycles/Macros list.

7 CIMCO Edit Efficient editing with NC-Assistant & Cycles/Macros
Step 3. Fill in the desired values for ”Program start”. Step 4. Code for ”Program start” is automatically generated and inserted.

8 Comparing two files using the File Compare
CIMCO Edit 5 Comparing two files using the File Compare

9 CIMCO Edit Comparing two files using the File Compare
File Compare is a powerful function in CIMCO Edit, which can locate differences between two program files. NC-Program NC-Program being compared with earlier version

10 CIMCO Edit Comparing two files using the File Compare Step 1.
Open an NC program in the editor. Step 2. Open file for comparison Click on icon, select program file from window and finally click ”Open”.

11 CIMCO Edit Comparing two files using the File Compare Step 3.
A two frame view with differences highlighted. Original file File for comparison

12 CIMCO Edit Comparing two files using the File Compare
Step 4. Viewing and Synchronizing files Next difference Previous difference Synchronize left to right Synchronize right to left Goto first difference Goto last difference Stopping file compare

13 Using the Back-Plotter
CIMCO Edit 5 Using the Back-Plotter

14 CIMCO Edit Back-Plotter. Using the Back-Plotter
Plot your 3-Axis Mill and 2-Axis lathe CNC programs inside CIMCO Edit with step and continuous forward and reverse synchronized plotting. Clicking on brings up the Back-Plotter. NC-Program

15 CIMCO Edit Using the Back-Plotter Rotate, scale and zoom in
3D while the Back-Plotter simulates the toolpaths (X,Y,Z) Control the speed and direction of the animation play-back. Forward Move control to the right. Backward Move control to the left.

16 Orderly program storage with NC-Base
CIMCO Edit 5 Orderly program storage with NC-Base

17 CIMCO Edit NC-Base Server Orderly program storage with NC-Base
NC-Base helps you keep track of your NC programs and their associated files. NC-Base provides comprehensive search capabilities, which help you locate information needed without necessarily knowing all details about it. NC-Base consists of : NC-Base Server Runs in the background as a service NC-Base Client NC-Base Explorer interface

18 CIMCO Edit Orderly program storage with NC-Base
NC-Base Explorer consists of two parts. On the right a tree structured presentation of all programs and associated information and below a preview of the selected file’s content. On the left are various search criteria. Searching will narrow down the number of files displayed in the tree structure. If no search fields are filled out a search will return all programs and files available.

19 CIMCO Edit Orderly program storage with NC-Base
NC-Base can be configured to suit your specific needs for information gathering and storage. An example of this is the ability you have to specify your own information fields.

20 DNC-Max Client and Server
CIMCO DNC-Max 5 DNC-Max Client and Server

21 CIMCO DNC-Max DNC-Max Server DNC-Max Client DNC-Max Client and Server
DNC-Max is made up of a Client and Server. DNC-Max Server The core component of DNC-Max, which is responsible for all communication activities and runs as a service in the background. DNC-Max Client The software application used for local or remote file transfer initiation, port monitoring and port management. Can access DNC-Max Servers across LAN, WAN or the Internet.

22 CIMCO DNC-Max 5 Transfer status

23 CIMCO DNC-Max Transfer status
To see detailed information about the current transfer for a specific port, click on the port in the port list, and select the ”Transfer status” tab. The transfer status tab is shown below.

24 CIMCO DNC-Max Transfer status
RX Receive signal - server is receiving data from the CNC. TX Transmit signal - server is sending data to the CNC. RTS Ready To Send - status from server to DNC. CTS Clear To Send - status from CNC to server. DTR Data Terminal Ready - status from server to DNC. DSR Data Set Ready - status from DNC to server. Xoff Transmission paused by XOff from CNC. Error One or more errors occurred during current transfer.

25 Send/Receive programs
CIMCO DNC-Max 5 Send/Receive programs

26 CIMCO DNC-Max Send/Receive programs
Use the ”Send/Receive” tab to send or receive files manually. A manual operation is a file transfer between the DNC server and the CNC, initiated manually from DNC-Max Client, as opposed to an automatic transfer initiated by the CNC operator using the remote request or auto receive features.

27 CIMCO DNC-Max Send/Receive programs
Step 1. To send a file manually from a specific port, highlight the port in the port list by clicking on the left mouse button. Press the arrow next to the Send button, to show a list of files recently sent to the selected port. Step 2. Click ”Send” and select the program you wish to transfer.

28 CIMCO DNC-Max Receive file Clear Queue Pause Restart Stop
Send/Receive programs Receive file Same way as before. Select port, click ”Receive” instead of ”Send” and select the file you want. Clear Queue To remove a specific entry in the Transmission queue, highlight the entry, and press Clear Queue. Pause To pause a transmission on a specific port, highlight the port in the port list by clicking the left mouse button, and press Pause. This will pause the transmission immediately. Restart To restart a transmission on a specific port, highlight the port in the port list by clicking the left mouse button, and press Restart. Stop To stop a transmission at a specific port, highlight the port in the port list by clicking the left mouse button, and press Stop.

29 CIMCO DNC-Max 5 Port log information

30 CIMCO DNC-Max Port log information
To see log information for a specific port, click on the port in the port list, and select the Log tab. The log displays the last entries since the server was started.

31 CIMCO DNC-Max 5 Terminal

32 CIMCO DNC-Max Terminal
To see the data being transferred for a specific port, click on the port in the port list, and select the Terminal tab. The terminal tab is shown below.

33 CIMCO DNC-Max Scroll Show CR/LF Terminal
When this field is checked, the terminal window scrolls when new data are added. Show CR/LF Check this field to see linefeed characters (ASCII 10 and ASCII 13).

34 Wireless DNC-Hardware
CIMCO DNC-Max 5 Wireless DNC-Hardware

35 CIMCO DNC-Max Wireless DNC-Hardware Hand-held terminal CIMCO DNC-Max 5 supports the use of Hand-held terminals. The Terminal is used for Remote mode in the DNC products to pass the name of a CNC code program as a string of ASCII characters back to the DNC system when requesting or storing a CNC code program. The Terminal is connected serially with DNC-MAX like connecting a CNC-Machine. Some CNC machines do not have a full keyboard. A hand-held terminal allows a CNC machine operator to request a file from the DNC computer while the operator is still at the CNC machine. A hand held terminal can be used for NC program transfers (upload and download, or drip-feeding) for one or more CNC machines.
