5 IT IS A SPORT! Cheerleading is a fall sport IT IS A HUGE TIME COMMITMENT!!! Freshman and JV: up to 4 practices a week and Thursday games, Eagles 5 K run, competing in Rebel Rally and supporting the Varsity squad at conference competition. Varsity: 5 practices a week and Friday games, competing in VHSL sanctioned competitions You will receive a letter or get a participation certificate Making the squad one year in no way guarantees you will make it the next Your GRADES, BEHAVIOR and ATTITUDE can effect your ability to be placed on a squad

6 All cheerleaders and parents will sign a participation policy You should never be at any party where alcohol is being served or consumed. It is an automatic 30 days suspension from activities even if you weren’t drinking. There doesn’t need to be any hard evidence only word of mouth. The principal is the one who determines whether or not the Participation Policy has been broken-NOT THE COACH

7 Practices and Games All appointments need to be made on your own time, NOT the team’s time. Work and transportation problems are NOT valid excuses for tardiness or absence. Each cheerleader is allowed 5 absences during each season (one which may be a game) Coaches must be made aware of extended absenses at least a month in advance. Tardiness is only excused with prior notification by a parent or with a note from a teacher Cheerleaders are not permitted to leave practice early. The coaches, at their discretion, may change practices times and dates.
