6 What is HEI? –Implemented Winter 1998 by the Ohio Board of Regents –Comprehensive web-based relational data warehouse for student demographics, course information, facilities, faculty, finance, financial aid and academic programs –Designed to calculate state subsidy for AND track enrollments between our 38 state supported post secondary institutions. $2 Billion distributed annually. –Over 580,000 students enrolled in 108,000 courses taught by 50,000 faculty. –Limitations Detailed enrollment data on public institutions only SSN tracking

7 Input - How does it work? Standard Formatted Text files submitted to a secure web-based application. http://www.regents.state.oh.us/hei/datasubdoc/techprep/techprepfiles.html Personally Identifiable Information is protected by separation, authentication and encrypted transport.
