2. Accentuate the Positive
1 Peter 2:1-3

3. Therefore… because of these…
v.3- born again v.4- reserved in heaven
v.8- because you love, believe, glorify
v.13- hope coming at revelation of Jesus
v.17- address God as your Father
v.19- redeemed with precious blood
v.22- purified your souls in obedience

4. PUTTING ASIDE… cast off, lay apart, put away
ALL malice - ill will, desire to injure
ALL guile - lit. decoy, deceit, trick
hypocrisy - acting a feigned part
Envy - ill will from jealousy, spite
ALL slander - evil speaking, backbiting

5. But, This is not Enough…
James 1:21; Galatians 5:19-21; Corinthians 6:9-10

6. James 1:21
Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

7. Galatians 5:19-21
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,20. idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,21. envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

8. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,10. nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

9. Luke 11:24-26
"When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, `I will return to my house from which I came.'25. "And when it comes, it finds it swept and put in order.26. "Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first."

10. But, This is not Enough…

11. Ephesians 4:22-24
…lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,23. and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,24. and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

12. But, This is not Enough…

13. LONG FOR… intensely crave, dote upon
What? The milk of the word
What kind? The pure milk
Why? So that we can GROW

14. If You Have Tasted the Kindness of the Lord
Are you “filling up” on what the Lord has to offer you?
Are you accentuating the positive?
Where Are You Today?
