3 Information Seeking Strategies There are books, workshops, and websites available to help us learn and to train teachers We should use them all… 2.1 Determine all possible sources 2.2 Select the best source

4 Location & Access We have lists of printed and online resources for you! Use them to find the answers to your questions and the questions of your staff! 3.1 Locate Sources 3.2 Find information within sources

5 Use of Information This is the step that we confuse with other steps! In previous steps, we found the actual resources and identified information in them… IN STEP 4, we read, listen, observe and interact with the resources to select the information that answers our original questions! 4.1 Engage 4.2 Extract relevant information

6 Synthesis Will the results be presented as… A book report? Power Point? Interview? Reader’s Theater? Newsletter? Advertisement? 5.1 Organize information from multiple sources 5.2 Present the result

7 Evaluation Students and Teachers will use checklists, rubrics, grades to judge the results. Students and Teachers should also discuss how successful the process was and what skills were learned that contribute to becoming better “life-long” learners. 6.1 Judge the result 6.2 Judge the process
