2 2 Part 1: Event setup Objectives: Learn how to set up an event with OE2003 (single day event) Check date/time format on PC agrees with how software interprets time: want dd/mm/yyyy &hh:mm:ss on the PC

3 3 Control Panel on PC Start, Settings, Control Panel Regional Options, Time format hh:mm:ss Short date format dd/MM/yyyy

7 7 Setting up an Event OE2003 v10.3 (single day) MT2003 v10.2 (multi-day) OEScore v10.3 (score O) Note: need to pay for these to get a Software key to fully activate these programs

8 8 OE2003 v10.3 Create a new event 1.Set up parameters: name, date, start time 2.List all controls to be used 3.Set up courses: assign controls to courses 4.Set up classes and assign courses to each class 5.Enter Clubs,competitors and assign to a class ¶ ( ¶ this is where the controls punched is compared to controls for the course they were assigned Let’s see it!

10 10 Event Settings Name of event that is open now Select: an old event stored on this computer Settings: for the event that is open New: create a new event

11 11 Event name, date, start time More settings Name the event and set the date and start time don’t ever check this

12 12 Sport Ident settings Use start and finish stations Mode is time taking, not run in

13 13 Courses, Control

14 14 control entry Enter the Start boxes and all controls that will be used + some spares Don’t need to list Finish boxes

15 15 start and regular controls Starts 1,2 are physically separate locations (e.g. at large events) Can make control descriptions here or not. May be done in OCAD map making program and printed onto map 2 Start Stations and 5 controls; Start # range:1-9 Control #: 31-255 Enter all controls that will be used on all courses + 5 spares (can swap in for a failed box)

17 17 enter course info and pick controls Length (km), climb (m), start #1 Add controls to this course Course name

18 18 list of all controls on the right that can drag to left panel for this course

19 19 dragged controls Drag controls over to Left panel for course 1 All available controls in right panel; should have spares listed too

20 20 make a controls report Make a report

21 21 the report Start & finish stations and controls

22 22 Entries, Classes

23 23 this is where classes are defined and fees set These are COF age categories + open + group

24 24 Courses, Classes

25 25 ** assign courses to classes this is where a class is linked to a course and determines what controls are expected for a competitor

26 26 Course 1 assigned to M12 Drop down list of all courses available

27 27 Oskahtak courses - May 30/04

28 28 Entries, Direct Entries

29 29 Direct Entries panel Add all the clubs first before entering competitors

30 30 insert a club name, city, nationality

31 31 When enter a competitor, select club from a list Enter competitor SI #, name, club and class

32 32 select class from a list Assigning a class to the person determines what controls are expected on their SI card because we linked classes to courses in another panel

33 33 next entry with a rented SI punch Rented SI card, will get a message at the finish to collect this rental SI card. tick the 2nd start fee (late entry)

34 34 after press enter, names goes into the dbase has a rented SI punch

35 35 Entries, Entries With direct entries, had boxes to fill in With Entries; add names to the list

36 36 can enter competitors into the table this is the database of all competitors; can enter names here too Add a new entry; add a new club if not in list

37 37 Reports of Entries

38 38 Can organize reports in different ways All classes are selected in blue but could select one or a few

42 42 End of OE2003 Part I have set up an event entered controls, courses entered Classes and assigned courses to classes entered a list of clubs and competitors and assigned a class to person EXERCISE 1: set up a test event with OE2003
