CONFIDENTIAL

REPORTS Session is designed to help you understand how to locate and obtain Network Reports, and how to print Network Mail. Network Reporting and Mail

CONFIDENTIAL Preface Contents of this instructional session are meant to be used as a guide. Information is subject to change. Covered in the session: How is network information stored with Commander? Where are network reports obtained? What type of network reports may be available? Network mail Open session 3

CONFIDENTIAL Network Reporting Network reports are separate from the regular reports that are generated by the POS. The Command and RubyCi process card transactions differently than legacy POS. Why don’t have I have network totals on my regular reports? The card transactions occur through a separate process from the POS processes. The segmentation of processes allows the data stored to be more secure and allows the network more control over card processing data. The data is stored for a time period that is configured within EPS Global Configuration Data storage Time is the amount of time EPS data is stored (in days) Security day count is how long unmasked data is stored. How is network information stored with Commander and RubyCi? 4

CONFIDENTIAL Network Reporting No. Network reports will be reconciled at the time of the shift or day close (configuration dependent) but the report will not automatically print. It can be printed after the transaction information is reconciled as long as its within the configured time frame (around 15 days on average.) Can I set up my POS to automatically print out network transaction information? 5 Will the reports still show local and host totals? Yes! POS (local) and Network (host) totals are still tracked separately in the site controller.

CONFIDENTIAL Network Reports Network reports are obtained through the POS only Network Menu in CSR functions can be used to print out reports. Note: If you are using Shell software the Network menu will look different as the information is being pulled from the Vantage box. Where are Network reports obtained? 6

CONFIDENTIAL Network Reports Access the Network Menu> EPS Network Reports > List Available Totals Report The reports will be displayed and can be printed or saved to a flash drive. Reports will show whether or not they’ve been printed or not. It is important that reports are printed out each day when available, especially if the site is in fallback mode(offline with the network). Failure to print out the reports when available may result in losing transaction information during offline processing! Reports Available Message 7

CONFIDENTIAL Network Reports Network reporting is controlled by the card processing network. However, there are two types of network reports that can be printed. Unsecure - Reports that contain card holder data that is masked. These reports can be printed by anyone with access to that option in Network Menu Secure – Reports that require additional “clearance” to view the information. These reports contain sensitive card holder data. –They also require secure access. Only one secure user is permitted to have access with the Commander and RubyCi systems. Secure user ID and passwords are separate from the regular POS login. The secure login is linked to a Configuration Client login user. What type of network reports may be available 8

CONFIDENTIAL Network Mail The card processing network has the ability to send network messages in the form of “mail”. Messages on the POS will appear to indicate that mail has been sent and is ready to be printed from the POS. If at any point the Mail Available message appears on the register it can be retrieved and printed. To print Network mail access the Network Menu > EPS Network Functions > Print Mail / Send Mail What is this message on my POS for that says “mail”? 9

CONFIDENTIAL Key Points to Remember Network reports are printed from the Network Menu on the POS Only Secure reports require a secure user ID and password that is not the same as the POS user ID Network mail is printed in the EPS Network Functions option in the Network menu on the POS 10
