Të dhënat ekologjike dhe hidromorfologjike për të janë jashtëzakonisht të kufizuara. Megjithatë, përgjatë rrjedhës në Shqipëri, janë parashikuar të ndërtohen rreth 8 diga hidrocentralesh. Një prej tyre, ajo e Hidrocentralit të Kalivaçit, është në ndërtim e sipër, por punimet aktualisht janë ndërprerë. Një kërcënim tjetër për këtë pellg ujëmbledhës është edhe Plani Grek i Menaxhimit, miratuar nga Qeveria Greke, ku parashikohet devijimi i një sasie të ujërave të lumit Vjosa drejt liqenit të Janinës. Projekte të tilla do ta shkatërrojnë këtë ekosistem lumor unik. Për më tepër, këto projekte bien ndesh me legjislacionin e BE-së si Direktiva Natura 2000 dhe Direktiva e Rrjetit të Ujërave. Ne, OJF-të shqiptare të poshtëshënuara, kundërshtojmë fuqimisht projektet që cënojnë intergitetin e lumit të Vjosës. Në vend të tyre, ne duam të mbrojmë trashëgiminë tonë natyrore. Vjosa nuk është vetëm një thesar natyror për Shqipërinë por edhe për të gjithë Evropën. Ky lumë është një thesar i trashëgimisë kulturore dhe socio-historike të rajonit.
