3  Known as the “Lost Colony”  In what is now North Carolina  First attempt by the British (Queen Elizabeth I) to set up colonies in North America in 1585 She sends Sir Walter Raleigh  Colonists disappear…what happened? Anglo-Spanish War? Native American attack? Did they integrate with neighboring tribes?
