67 Industrial Revolution67 How it all started... Upon graduating from college in 1792, Whitney traveled south, ending up at Greene Plantation near Savannah, Georgia. During his stay on Greene Plantation, Whitney heard of a need for a machine that would separate cotton from its seed.
