3. History of Invention People suffering from diabetes regularly have to check their blood glucose levels. A biochemical engineer from the University of Western Ontario invented the contact lens which detect the increase in the blood glucose levels by changing its color.

4. Working Hydrogen contact lenses provide a non-invasive way of checking the level of glucose by changing colours each time the level of sugar in blood increases or lowers. This is possible thanks to nanoparticles implanted in the lenses.

5. These particles come into contact with glucose molecules found in human tears. As a result of chemical reaction, the lenses change their colour, warning the person about the sugar levels.
