Aristotle – Greek philosopher, one of the first to create a Western system of philosophy and beliefs. master of the art of persuasion, points out the three main tactics to be employed if one wished to succeed in the business of persuasion. In Greek, they are: 1. ETHOS 2. PATHOS 3. LOGOS

4 The Art of Rhetoric ETHOS (Ethical Appeal): It signifies a person’s character. This is where you establish yourself as a voice that should be heard. Of the three, it should come first in an argument or debate. CREDIBILITY-why you should be heard?

6 The Art of Rhetoric LOGOS (Logical Appeal): It is the command of reasons.
