3 Sanctions During 2009-10 Total Projects Sanctioned - 116 Total Area Sanctioned - 6.71 lakh ha. Total Project Cost - Rs. 805.21 crore Central Releases - Rs. 43.48 crore State Releases - Rs. 4.33 crore Total Releases - Rs. 47.81 crore

4 Status of Implementation of Projects Sanctioned in 2009-10 Institutional Arrangement (SLNA and DWDU) –Professional Experts are not available on deputation. –In the context of recent clarification from GoI, process for taking experts on contract is being initiated Institutional Arrangement (PIA and WDT) –Full time and committed WDT is the essential pre requisite for successful planning and implementation –In Madhya Pradesh emphasis is given to appoint full time WDT with quality professionals –NGOs have been scrutinised based on the criteria laid down in common WS guidelines. In 18 projects reputed NGOs have been appointed –Performance appraisal of existing WDT has already been initiated after grading of executed work by them.

5 Institutional Arrangement (PIA and WDT) contd.... –In 65 projects WDT of professionals having experience of 3 to 4 years in watershed management project will be appointed by 10th June-2010 –18 Corporate Institutions were short listed based on nation wide advertisement. 12 Institutions have submitted the proposal for partnership with RGMWM. Administrative cost, capacity building cost and initiatives for value addition including market linkage will be the mode of contribution from corporate sector. Such corporate institution will be associated in 12 projects. –In remaining projects Govt. Line Departments and WDT will be appointed by 15th June-2010 –Operational guideline has been issued for roles and responsibilities of DWDU and PIA/WDT. MoU has also being designed

6 Status of Implementation of Projects Sanctioned in 2009-10 Preparation of DPR –Trainings of District Level Master Trainers have been completed with the help of NRAA. –Operational guidelines for community organisation have been issued :- Formation of groups, SHGs, village WCs Appointment of WC Secretary Roles and responsibilities MoUs having provision of outcome oriented planning and performance Entry point work Strengthening of community groups
