Bill Montgomery Mission House grew out of the compassion and dedication of the faith community at the Beach. Opened in February, 1997, Mission House is a day facility serving the homeless in the Beaches communities from St. Johns County on the South to Mayport on the North, providing meals, showers, medical care, clothing vouchers, case management and referrals to agencies for jobs, mental health, medical services, etc. In 1998, the Mission House Clinic opened, providing free medical services to anyone without insurance. Mission House assists clients to regain their self-sufficiency, self- esteem and well-being. Thank you Jan for your informative and thought provoking talk. The roses are $15 per dozen. Each member takes orders from friends, neighbors, church, etc. Orders must be turned in by May 3rd. The roses are delivered Friday morning, May 11 th, then packaged for pick up. Our weekly meeting will be moved from Thursday (May 10 th ) to Friday (May 11 th ) to enable us to deliver the roses one day closer to Mother’s Day which is May 13 th. The committee members are Jay Ambler, Lal Ramdeen, and Max Booke. What an easy way to promote Kiwanis. Can we count on YOU? NAME THAT PRESIDENT! Jan Flager Executive Director of Mission House Jay Ambler spoke about our upcoming Rose Sale.
