5  A Trend found in Women's Wear Daily is titled as 'The Longer Short Of It'. Instead of making short shorter and smaller designers are playing with hem lines this season by shortening pants and lengthening shorts.  "It gives a masculine edge and boyish attitude to the silhouette." Alexander Wang says. Designers Alexander Wang, Tory Burch, Acne, Just Cavalli, and Carven are a few who are showing this trend.  The members of group five didn't like the trend nor would wear it. The shorter pants have a business feel to them and would sell more to a 30-40's age group and would be sold in stores like Macy's and Nordstroms. Reyna presents Laura’s report

6 Dominique reports 1. They are called Heeless shoes. This pair was designed by Noritaka Tatehana and can be seen on Style.com

7 Nina Ricci Dominique reporting  2. These type of shoes have never been seen before.  3. This would appeal to Lady Gaga and any one who has an innovative style because it is definitely different and not everyone would wear them.  4. The shoes would not sell well in general, but might be carried in high-class boutiques and fashion museums. Nina Ricci by designer Marc Jacobs

10 Reyna reports http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/fash-track/cfda-awards-mary-kate-ashley-olsen-seth-meyers-333258 Twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen really are fashion royalty. They were awarded the CFDA woman's wear award for designers of the year for there label The Row. Which is great for woman of all ages. They keep it classy with a little edge meets modern. Kind of something I could see Vera Wang rockin. Winning the CFDA award is like winning a Oscar in the fashion world. They have a great influence on young designers. 12 Job in the Fashion Industry: The two jobs advertised are Sample Maker and Bench Tailor. The Manhattan (NY) based Bench Tailor job asks for bespoke (personalized as per client’s needs) jacket making skills. Minimum 10 years as a custom tailor not an alteration’s tailor. The New York ad for 2 Sample Makers require a working knowledge of flat lock, cover stitch, single needle machines and sewing skills in sports and athletic wear sewing woven and stretch fabric. Minimum 5 years experience needed. Just out of school? Internship jobs are encouraged and are a must in a contact oriented industry. (It is all in who you know.) Sewing is a skill that many people gain experience in on their own. It is possible to become expert through practice alone. Computer patternmaking however is a growing skill that requires training. http://www.fashioncareerstips.com/fields-within-fashion.html http://tinyurl.com/7cdsgjn http://tinyurl.com/8cardxf Deborah reporting
