3 U9/10 Winter Training Week 9 Running with the Ball DiagramOrganizationCoaching Points 4v4 Scrimmage Unrestricted Free play first 10-15 minutes Changing direction Area 20 x20 with 4 one yard gates in the corners. Players standing 2 on one side and 1 opposite with the two 1.Player 1 dribbles the ball across to the opposite side using the foot closest to the sideline having as many touches of the ball as possible 2.When the players get halfway they switch feet and dribble to the group diagonally Get low on the ball Knees bent Small touches of the ball Change of pace in the middle part Bring the ball to the middle with the foot closest to the outside Be dynamic in the center Change feet, direction and speed Adding pressure Area 20x20 12 players Players try to dribble a ball across to an open gate with 1 defender in the middle If defender puts their foot on the ball they switch with whoever gave it away Start the game with 3 balls Take away a gate and add a defender Final Game 30x40 with 2 five yard zones on side 4v4 players have 3 free seconds if they receive a pass in the wide zone Free play Team Shape Communication Awareness of pressure D

4 U9/10 Winter Training Week 10 Passing Accuracy DiagramOrganizationCoaching Points 4v4 Scrimmage Unrestricted Free play first 10-15 minutes Partner and a ball line up across from a gate Players start close together, as they complete a pass through the gate they take a step back. If they miss, take a step forward. See who can get the furthest apart Ball must get to partner and cannot touch cones Switch to Left foot only, right foot only Ball out of feet Push through the ball Ankle locked Knee over ball How to approach ball Pace of pass 5 goal game: 3v3 5 balls set up on cones on the field Teams use game ball to knock other balls off cones. Once a ball is knocked off, the ball is dead First team to knock 3 off wins. Plant foot as aim Push through the ball Open hips Ankle locked Pace of pass 4v4 Scrimmage When to pass How to get open/angles for passing

5 U9/10 Winter Training Week 11 Shielding DiagramOrganizationCoaching Points 4v4 Scrimmage Unrestricted Free play first 10 minutes In the same game space Every player has a ball at their feet, One player is “it” Players are free to dribble anywhere in the grid “IT” attempts to hit a player’s ball with her own by passing into it If a player’s ball is hit they joins ”it” to hit other balls. The last player left dribbling the ball becomes “it” for the next round. Protect the ball – Big as possible Get away from pressure Balanced stance Head up for awareness Divide field into 8 grids with 2 players and 1 ball in each grid One partner starts with the ball and attempts to shield the ball from her opponent. Player without the ball tries to win the ball and shield Normal rules apply for a ball kicked out of bounds. Whichever player has possession of the ball after 20 seconds of play wins. Rotate opponents Body position low to the ground Head looking to know where opponent is Dribble into open space Foot on ball away from opponent’s reach Kick out with Goals Every player except one has a ball at their feet Theplayer without a ball attempts to steal another player’s ball and score in any of the four goals. Once a goal has been scored, the player that lost their ball joins in to steal other balls Head up to find open spaces and defenders Dribble with foot farthest away from the defender Use feints to maintain possession of the ball. Final Game
